Commercial RO Plant in Pune: 2026 Buying Guide for Businesses

Commercial RO plant with storage tanks installed at a business in Pune
Buying Guide

Quick answer: To buy the right commercial RO plant in Pune, first test your raw water for TDS, hardness, iron and chlorine. Then estimate your daily litres (about 3 L per person, plus 5–7 L per meal served), divide by 8–10 running hours and add 15–25% headroom. Indicative prices run from ₹18,500 for 25 LPH to ₹1,80,000 for 2000 LPH. Insist on an itemised quote and a local AMC.

Buying a commercial RO plant in Pune is less about picking a brand and more about matching three things: how much water you need, what your raw water contains, and who will keep the plant running after it is installed. Get those right and the plant pays for itself in avoided water-can bills and breakdowns.

Why Pune businesses need a commercial RO plant

Most offices, restaurants and factories in Pune start with 20-litre cans. It works until headcount grows. At 100 people drinking 3 litres a day, you are buying 15 cans daily, handling deliveries, and trusting a supplier you cannot inspect. A properly sized RO plant gives you a fixed, measurable water source on your own premises.

Water source matters too. Areas on PMC or PCMC supply usually receive treated water with fairly low TDS. Many commercial sites in Wakad, Hinjewadi, Ravet, Chakan, Talegaon and Moshi rely partly on borewells or tankers, and that water can carry much higher dissolved solids and hardness. A commercial RO plant handles both, but the configuration is different.

Start with your water, not the plant

Before comparing quotes, get a basic raw-water test. At minimum you want:

  • TDS (total dissolved solids), which decides membrane load and recovery.
  • Hardness, which decides whether you need a softener or antiscalant dosing to protect the membrane.
  • Iron and turbidity, which decide the sand filter and whether an iron removal filter is needed.
  • Chlorine, common in municipal supply, which must be removed by activated carbon before it reaches the membrane.

A supplier who quotes without asking about your water is guessing. We do this test free as part of our site survey.

How to size a commercial RO plant

LPH means litres per hour. Daily output is LPH × hours of running. Size the plant so it covers the day's need in 8–10 hours, which leaves time to refill storage.

Step 1: estimate daily litres. Use 3 litres per person for drinking. Add 5–7 litres per meal served if the plant also supplies the kitchen.

Step 2: divide by running hours. 2,000 litres a day ÷ 8 hours = 250 LPH.

Step 3: add headroom. Membrane output drops in winter (colder water) and as membranes age. Add 15–25% if you are close to the boundary.

Up to 1,000 L100–120 LPHOffice with 150 staff, drinking only
1,000–2,000 L250 LPHRestaurant + staff, small factory canteen
2,000–4,000 L500 LPH50-room hotel, hospital, college hostel

Commercial RO plant prices in Pune

Prices below are A1Aqua's current indicative figures for standard configurations. Treat them as a starting point; pre-treatment, frame material and site work change the final number.

CapacityIndicative price
25 LPH₹18,500
50–80 LPH₹29,500
100–120 LPH₹37,500
150–200 LPH₹52,000
250 LPH₹80,000
500 LPH₹95,000
1000 LPH₹1,20,000
2000 LPH₹1,80,000

Running cost matters as much as purchase price. Budget for electricity (a 1 HP pump uses about 0.75 kW), antiscalant chemical, cartridge changes every 1–3 months and membrane replacement every 2–3 years. An AMC rolls most of this into one annual figure.

What a good commercial RO plant includes

  1. Pressure sand filter for suspended solids and turbidity.
  2. Activated carbon filter for chlorine, odour and organics.
  3. Antiscalant dosing pump to stop hardness scaling the membrane.
  4. Micron cartridge filters (jumbo bowls) as the last guard before the pump.
  5. High-pressure pump rated for the membrane count.
  6. RO membranes, usually 4040 size for 250–1000 LPH and 4080 for 2000 LPH.
  7. Control panel with tank-level switching and solenoid valves.

If a quote leaves out pre-treatment to look cheaper, the membrane pays for it within months.

Five buying mistakes we see often

  1. Sizing on headcount only. Kitchens and peak lunch-hour draw change everything.
  2. Skipping the water test. Borewell water with high hardness needs a softener or dosing.
  3. No storage tank plan. The plant should fill a tank; users should draw from the tank.
  4. Buying from a supplier with no local service team. Breakdowns need a technician the same week, not the next month.
  5. Comparing unequal quotes. Ask for itemised quotes so you compare membranes, pumps and vessels like for like.

Buying a commercial RO plant in your part of Pune & PCMC

The same 250 LPH plant can need a different configuration in Hinjewadi than in Koregaon Park, because the buyers and the water are different. This is what we see most often:

Frequently asked questions

How much does a commercial RO plant cost in Pune?

Standard commercial RO plants range from about ₹18,500 for 25 LPH to ₹1,80,000 for 2000 LPH. Raw-water quality, pre-treatment, frame material and site work change the final price.

Which commercial RO plant capacity is best for an office?

For drinking water only, an office of up to 150 people is usually well served by 100–120 LPH. Offices with a cafeteria or 200+ staff typically need 250 LPH.

Do I need a water test before buying an RO plant?

Yes. TDS, hardness, iron and chlorine levels decide the pre-treatment and membrane load. A plant chosen without a water test often fails early.

Do you supply commercial RO plants in Hinjewadi and Wakad?

Yes. Our store is on the Hinjewadi–Wakad road, and we supply, install and service commercial RO plants across Hinjewadi, Wakad, Baner, Balewadi, Tathawade, Ravet and the rest of Pune and PCMC.

What is the smallest commercial RO plant you supply?

Our smallest commercial unit is the 25 LPH RO plant at ₹18,500, which makes about 200 litres in an 8-hour day. It suits clinics, shops and offices of up to about 60 people.
