500 LPH RO Plant for Businesses in Pune & PCMC
A 500 LPH commercial RO plant delivers about 500 litres of purified water per hour, or 4,000 litres in an 8-hour run. It suits hotels, hospitals, large canteens, colleges and factories in Pune and PCMC that need drinking and cooking water for several hundred people every day.
500 LPH Commercial RO Plant Specifications
Standard configuration supplied and installed by A1Aqua. Pre-treatment is finalised after we test your raw water, because borewell water in areas like Wakad, Hinjewadi, Chakan and Talegaon often has much higher TDS and hardness than PMC or PCMC municipal supply.

How a 500 LPH Commercial RO Plant Works
- Raw-water feed: water from your borewell, tanker or municipal tank is pumped into the plant.
- Pre-treatment: the sand filter removes suspended solids and the activated carbon filter removes chlorine, odour and organics. Antiscalant dosing protects the membrane from hardness.
- Micron cartridge filtration: jumbo cartridge bowls stop fine particles before the high-pressure pump.
- Reverse osmosis: the pump pushes water through the 4040 membranes, removing dissolved salts, heavy metals and most microbes.
- Storage & supply: purified water goes to your treated-water tank, dispensers or a water cooler line. The control panel switches the plant on and off by tank level.
Installation Timeline
Once the order is confirmed, a 500 LPH plant is usually delivered and installed in 1–2 working days. That includes plumbing, electrical connection to your panel, dosing calibration, a commissioning test and a TDS reading recorded at handover.
500 LPH RO Plant: Daily Running Cost and Maintenance
A 500 LPH plant runs two 4040 membranes on a 1 HP pump. These figures assume typical 50–60% recovery and are confirmed after we test your raw water.
| Item | Per hour | Per 8-hour run |
|---|---|---|
| Purified water output | 500 L | About 4,000 L |
| Raw water needed | About 800–1,000 L | About 6,500–8,000 L |
| Reject water (reusable for gardening or flushing) | About 300–500 L | About 2,500–4,000 L |
| Electricity (1 HP pump) | About 0.75 kWh | About 6 units |
Maintenance schedule
| Task | How often | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|
| Micron cartridge change | Every 1–3 months, depending on raw water | Protects the pump and membranes from fine particles |
| Antiscalant top-up | Check weekly, refill before it runs dry | Stops hardness from scaling the membranes |
| Sand and carbon filter backwash | Regularly, as advised at commissioning | Keeps pre-treatment flow and chlorine removal working |
| TDS, pressure and flow check | Every service visit | Early warning of membrane fouling |
| RO membrane replacement (2 × 4040) | Typically every 2–3 years | Restores output and purity |
Sizing example: a college canteen in PCMC
Take a college with 800 students on campus each day. At about 3 litres per person, drinking water alone is around 2,400 litres. A canteen cooking for the same students may add another 800–1,000 litres. Total demand of about 3,400 litres fits inside the 4,000 litres a 500 LPH plant makes in an 8-hour run, with room to spare during exams and events. A 250 LPH plant would need to run for close to 14 hours to keep up. This is an illustrative calculation. We size every plant from your actual usage and water test.

500 LPH Commercial RO Plant FAQs
-
What is the price of a 500 LPH commercial RO plant in Pune?
Our standard 500 LPH plant is listed at ₹95,000. Feed-water TDS, hardness, the need for a softener, SS vs MS frame and site plumbing can change the final figure. You get a written quote after the free site survey.
-
How much water does a 500 LPH RO plant produce per day?
About 4,000 litres in 8 hours, 8,000 litres in 16 hours and up to 10,000–12,000 litres if it runs 20–24 hours with adequate raw-water supply and storage.
-
How much raw water does a 500 LPH plant need?
Commercial RO plants typically recover 50–60% of the feed water as purified output, so plan for 800–1,000 litres of raw water per hour. Reject water can be reused for gardening, flushing or floor cleaning.
-
When should I choose 500 LPH over 250 LPH?
If your daily need is above about 2,500 litres, or if a 250 LPH plant would need to run more than 10–12 hours a day, 500 LPH is the better choice. It also leaves headroom for growth.
-
What is the electricity consumption of a 500 LPH RO plant?
The 1 HP pump draws about 0.75 kW, so roughly 6 units per 8-hour run, plus a small dosing pump load.
-
Do you install and maintain 500 LPH plants across PCMC?
Yes. We install across Pune and Pimpri-Chinchwad including Wakad, Hinjewadi, Bhosari, Chakan, Talegaon, Moshi and Hadapsar, and offer AMC after handover.
-
What maintenance does a 500 LPH RO plant need?
Micron cartridges every 1–3 months depending on raw water, regular antiscalant top-up and sand/carbon backwash, TDS and pressure checks at every visit, and replacement of the two 4040 membranes typically every 2–3 years. Our AMC covers all of this.
