250 LPH RO Plant for Businesses in Pune & PCMC
A 250 LPH commercial RO plant produces about 250 litres of purified water every hour, which is 2,000 litres in an 8-hour run. It is the size most small factories, mid-size offices, restaurants, clinics and hostels in Pune move to when a 100 LPH unit starts running all day and still falls short.
250 LPH Commercial RO Plant Specifications
Standard configuration supplied and installed by A1Aqua. Pre-treatment is finalised after we test your raw water, because borewell water in areas like Wakad, Hinjewadi, Chakan and Talegaon often has much higher TDS and hardness than PMC or PCMC municipal supply.

Who Should Buy a 250 LPH RO Plant?
At 3 litres per person per day for drinking, 2,000 litres covers roughly 600 people. Add cooking and the realistic number drops to 150–250 people. That is why we size on peak-hour draw and storage, not on headcount alone.
| Business type in Pune / PCMC | Typical fit for 250 LPH |
|---|---|
| Offices & IT companies | 150–400 staff, drinking water only |
| Restaurants & cloud kitchens | Drinking + cooking for a single kitchen |
| Clinics & small hospitals | OPD, pantry and wards |
| Schools & coaching centres | 400–700 students for drinking |
| PGs & hostels | 100–200 residents incl. cooking |
| Small factories & workshops | Canteen and drinking water points |

How a 250 LPH Commercial RO Plant Works
- Raw-water feed: water from your borewell, tanker or municipal tank is pumped into the plant.
- Pre-treatment: the sand filter removes suspended solids and the activated carbon filter removes chlorine, odour and organics. Antiscalant dosing protects the membrane from hardness.
- Micron cartridge filtration: jumbo cartridge bowls stop fine particles before the high-pressure pump.
- Reverse osmosis: the pump pushes water through the 4040 membrane, removing dissolved salts, heavy metals and most microbes.
- Storage & supply: purified water goes to your treated-water tank, dispensers or a water cooler line. The control panel switches the plant on and off by tank level.
Installation Timeline
Once the order is confirmed, a 250 LPH plant is usually delivered and installed in 1–2 working days. That includes plumbing, electrical connection to your panel, dosing calibration, a commissioning test and a TDS reading recorded at handover.
250 LPH RO Plant: Daily Running Cost and Maintenance
The purchase price is only part of the cost. These are the day-to-day numbers for a standard 250 LPH plant at typical 50–60% recovery. Your exact figures depend on raw-water TDS and hardness, which we check during the site survey.
| Item | Per hour | Per 8-hour run |
|---|---|---|
| Purified water output | 250 L | About 2,000 L |
| Raw water needed | About 420–500 L | About 3,300–4,000 L |
| Reject water (reusable for gardening or flushing) | About 170–250 L | About 1,300–2,000 L |
| Electricity (½ HP pump) | About 0.37 kWh | About 3 units |
Maintenance schedule
| Task | How often | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|
| Micron cartridge change | Every 1–3 months, depending on raw water | Protects the pump and membranes from fine particles |
| Antiscalant top-up | Check weekly, refill before it runs dry | Stops hardness from scaling the membranes |
| Sand and carbon filter backwash | Regularly, as advised at commissioning | Keeps pre-treatment flow and chlorine removal working |
| TDS, pressure and flow check | Every service visit | Early warning of membrane fouling |
| RO membrane replacement (1 × 4040) | Typically every 2–3 years | Restores output and purity |
Sizing example: a 300-person office in Hinjewadi
At about 3 litres of drinking water per person per day, 300 staff need roughly 900 litres a day. A 250 LPH plant makes that in under 4 hours, which leaves headroom for the pantry and for growth. If the same office also runs a canteen that cooks lunch on site, daily demand can pass 2,000 litres, and the 500 LPH commercial RO plant becomes the safer choice. This is an illustrative calculation. We size every plant from your actual usage and water test.

250 LPH Commercial RO Plant FAQs
-
What is the price of a 250 LPH commercial RO plant in Pune?
Our standard 250 LPH plant is listed at ₹80,000. The final figure depends on raw-water TDS, the pre-treatment needed (sand/carbon filter, softener), SS or MS frame and the plumbing distance at your site. We confirm it in a written quote after a free site visit.
-
How many people can a 250 LPH RO plant serve?
Running 8 hours it makes about 2,000 litres. That is enough drinking water for roughly 500–600 people, or drinking plus cooking for around 150–250 people. If your premises run two shifts, the same plant can run longer and cover more.
-
Is a 250 LPH plant enough for a restaurant or hotel kitchen?
For a single restaurant or cloud kitchen, usually yes. A hotel with rooms, a banquet hall and a kitchen will normally need 500 LPH or more. Share your covers per day and we will size it.
-
How much electricity does a 250 LPH RO plant use?
The high-pressure pump is ½ HP (about 0.37 kW). Running 8 hours a day that is roughly 3 units of electricity per day, plus a small load for the dosing pump.
-
Which membrane is used in a 250 LPH RO plant?
One 4040-size RO membrane in an FRP or SS pressure housing. Membrane life is typically 2–3 years with proper pre-treatment and regular servicing.
-
Do you provide AMC for 250 LPH plants?
Yes. Our commercial AMC covers scheduled visits, cartridge changes, membrane cleaning, dosing chemical top-up and breakdown support across Pune and PCMC.
-
How much reject water does a 250 LPH RO plant produce?
At typical 50–60% recovery, a 250 LPH plant sends about 170–250 litres per hour to reject, or roughly 1,300–2,000 litres in an 8-hour run. Reject water can be reused for gardening, toilet flushing or floor washing.
