Quick answer: A 1000 LPH RO plant makes 8,000 litres in 8 hours at rated conditions. Plan on about 6,800 litres for year-round reliability. It needs 1,700–2,000 litres of raw water per hour at 50–60% recovery, and suits factories, large hotels, hospitals and campuses. A1Aqua's indicative price is ₹1,20,000 for four 4040 membranes, sand and carbon filters, dosing and an auto panel.
On paper a 1000 LPH commercial RO plant makes 1,000 litres an hour. On site in Pune, the real figure depends on water temperature, raw-water TDS, membrane age and how long the plant actually runs. Here is how to read the number properly.
Rated output vs real output
| Running hours per day | Rated output | Planning figure (85%) |
|---|---|---|
| 8 hours | 8,000 L | ~6,800 L |
| 12 hours | 12,000 L | ~10,200 L |
| 16 hours | 16,000 L | ~13,600 L |
| 20 hours | 20,000 L | ~17,000 L |
Why plan at 85%? Membrane output is rated at about 25°C. Pune winters bring colder water, which lowers flux. Higher raw-water TDS and gradual membrane fouling also cut output. Planning at 85% keeps you covered all year.
How much raw water does a 1000 LPH plant need?
Commercial RO plants usually recover 50–60% of feed water as purified water. So a 1000 LPH plant needs roughly 1,700–2,000 litres of raw water per hour. Over an 8-hour run that is 13,000–16,000 litres of raw water.
Your borewell yield or tanker supply must keep up. Reject water (the concentrate) can be reused for gardening, toilet flushing, floor washing or cooling-tower make-up, depending on its TDS.
Who needs a 1000 LPH RO plant?
- Factories in MIDC belts such as Chakan, Talegaon, Bhosari and Ranjangaon, with 500–1,500 workers and canteens.
- Large hotels and banquet venues with multiple kitchens.
- Hospitals supplying wards, pantries and canteen.
- Educational campuses with hostels and messes.
- Residential townships running a society drinking-water point.
- Food and beverage units using RO water in process (subject to a water and process review).
Space, power and storage
- Space: roughly 8 ft × 4 ft for the skid and vessels, plus service clearance.
- Power: our standard plant uses a 1 HP high-pressure pump (about 0.75 kW), plus a raw-water feed pump if needed.
- Storage: a treated-water tank of 5,000 litres or more, so the plant can refill between peaks.
- Drain: a drain line or reject-water tank for reuse.
Price and operating cost
Our indicative price for a standard 1000 LPH plant with four 4040 membranes, sand and carbon filters, dosing and an auto panel is ₹1,20,000. A full SS skid, a softener or UV after RO will add to that.
Biggest cost driver after purchase: membrane life. Good pre-treatment and regular antiscalant dosing can keep 4040 membranes working for 2–3 years. Poor pre-treatment can cut that to under a year.

1000 LPH plants in Pune's industrial and campus belts
Most of our 1000 LPH installations are in the PCMC and MIDC belt. That includes factories and worker canteens in Chakan and Bhosari, mixed industrial and IT units in Talawade, and institutions in Alandi that must handle big crowds on festival days. In the city, IT campuses in Hinjewadi and large hotels and tech parks in Kharadi use 1000 LPH plants for cafeterias and drinking-water points.
For factories, the sizing, borewell treatment and MS vs SS skid choice are covered in detail in our industrial RO plant guide for Pune and Chakan MIDC.

Frequently asked questions
How much water does a 1000 LPH RO plant produce in a day?
About 8,000 litres in 8 hours and up to 20,000 litres in a 20-hour run at rated conditions. Plan at about 85% of these figures for year-round reliability.
How much raw water does a 1000 LPH RO plant need?
Roughly 1,700–2,000 litres per hour at typical 50–60% recovery.
What is the cost of a 1000 LPH RO plant in Pune?
A1Aqua lists its standard 1000 LPH commercial RO plant at ₹1,20,000. Final pricing depends on pre-treatment, frame material and site work.
Do you install 1000 LPH RO plants in Chakan and Bhosari MIDC?
Yes. We install and service 1000 LPH plants in Chakan, Bhosari, Talawade, Alandi, Talegaon, Hinjewadi and across Pune and PCMC, sized from an on-site water test.
Can a 1000 LPH RO plant run 20 hours a day?
Yes. Skid-mounted plants are built for long running hours, provided pre-treatment and antiscalant dosing are kept up. Plan output at about 85% of the rated figure and change cartridges based on running hours, not the calendar.
